Integra Telecom is a company that cares about its customers. Focused on small & medium sized businesses across the western half of the US, the company provides a variety of telephone and Internet services. During a rebranding effort, the company had two distinct goals: reach new customers with its geographically-diversified product offering, and continue to reinforce its friendly reputation among existing customers.

Our process began as it always does - with getting to understand the company and its clientele. We learned that the company has built its reputation as the telecom provider that always answers its phone. That kind of trust cemented the company in the minds (and dare we say, hearts) of its customers. Integra wanted its customers to extend its friendly and helpful nature to its website so that people could self-help their concerns in an extensive customer portal.

New customers should also recognize Integra's local, friendly, customer-focused personality. The web design team was sure to take care of that by creating a visual system that was open, colorful and downright stunning. But a key component of the company's communications platform was its diversified product set - with many products being available only to specific geographies. While the designers created an iconography to represent each service category (phone, Internet access, etc), the strategists went to work architecting a site flow that would help anyone get the service and information they needed within a couple of clicks.

From the drawing board came a complete online strategy: with a detailed multi-phase plan to capitalize on the website's opportunities and the wireframes to demonstrate how different pieces would fit together. In particular, we surmised the average business owner (or administrative person) knows what services they need and does not have the time to fish around a complex site looking for information. Integra's competition buries product information, so for Integra, we moved it right out to the front with the Solution Finder.

Without leaving the home page, the visitor can choose their locality, see available products, and check off the ones they want. From there they visit a customized product information page that summarizes Integra's offerings for their specific interests, complete with contact and sales information for getting in touch. In the future, the system can be customized with live customer service chat, pre-selected locality based on IP address, and even social network features to allow Integra to be as open as possible for anyone who seeks information.
